Enquiry with a purpose

Caleb University was licensed by the National Universities Commission in 2007 and is organised as a collegiate institution at Imota, Lagos. Research here sits alongside teaching rather than apart from it: the academics who take undergraduate classes are the same people who supervise research candidates, publish, and lead the University’s centres.

Guided by the motto For God and Humanity, the University’s interest is in work that meets scholarly standards and answers to a real need — in Lagos, in Nigeria, and beyond.

Research centres

Eight centres coordinate research, partnership and outreach across the University. Each holds a distinct mandate, and each welcomes collaboration from within Caleb and from outside it.

Publications

The University keeps a public record of the work its academics produce. The publications directory can be browsed by title, author or department, and the researcher directory lets you find an academic and read their output in one place.

Members of staff register and submit their publications through the same system, which keeps the University’s research record current without a separate reporting exercise each year.

Journals published and hosted by the University are listed under Journals, together with guidance for authors and reviewers.

Postgraduate research

Research degrees are administered through the Colleges of Postgraduate Studies. Prospective candidates should begin with the postgraduate pages, which set out the available programmes, entry requirements and the application route.

Open educational resources

Teaching and reference material released for open use is catalogued under Open Educational Resources, searchable by title, author and subject.

Funding, grants and partnership

The Centre for Grants and Endowments supports academics seeking external funding and administers endowed awards made to the University.

Partnerships with industry, government and non-governmental organisations are coordinated by the Centre for Global Engagement, Non-Government and Industry Partnership.

Research integrity

Caleb expects every piece of work produced under its name to be original, properly attributed and ethically conducted. Similarity screening is in place for research-degree submissions, and authorship, data handling and the acknowledgement of funding are held to the standards of the discipline concerned.
